What do you expect when eight mythological guests come to an orgy? They pour their hearts out telling stories of the ecstasies and torments of sex and love and we learn life is more than Romeo and Juliet.

Ovid’s stories of love and sexual incompatibility echo down the centuries. Shakespeare was only one of the many playwrights who plundered Ovid’s Metamorphoses for plotlines that seem so true to everyday life. They are so familiar to us that they make up a significant part of our cultural heritage. Part of the collective unconscious they makes us what we are.
